State Conference
24 Freeman FBLA members competed at the state conference and 10 have qualified to compete at the national conference in Nashville, TN.
The following members earned top honors for Freeman at the conference and are heading to Nashville this summer!
Making the finals but coming up just short of going on stage (only the top five in each category receive awards):
- Business Ethics – The team of Chelsa Ayers, Danica Cramer and Mackenzie Deryuter – State Champions!
- Emerging Business Issues – The team of Danny Cossey and Hanna Weathers - State Champions!
- Management Information Systems – The team of Andy Coumont, Dalton Fetsch and Josh Grandinetti – State Champions!
- Help Desk – Tyler Hjaltalin – State Champion!
- Introduction to Technology Concepts – Cody Dickinson – 2nd place in State!
- Network Design – The team of Coumont, Fetsch and Grandinetti – 3rd place in State!
· Entrepreneurship, Team 1 – Josh Grandinett and Brian Hart
· Emerging Business Issues, Team 2 - MacKenzie DeRuyter, Alex Quinnett and Morgan Romey
The Freeman chapter also received a regional award – For the 4th straight year, Freeman earned the honor of being the “Largest Chapter in the Northeast Region”.
Fall Conference
Thanks to everyone who attended the Fall Conference. The keynote speaker, Stacy Julian, was awesome and offered many examples of true innovation and creativity in the business world. The breakout sessions were also interesting, and the entertainment, provided by Jimmy Finn, was excellent. Pictures from the conference can be viewed here.

freeman fbla membership drive underway!
Freeman High School's FBLA chapter has been the largest chapter in the Northeast Region for the last three years! Get ready for another great year by joining FBLA today - a move you're really going to be glad you made! The deadline to join FBLA for the 2009-10 school year is Friday, October 9. Simply pay your $25 membership dues in the main office. This covers our state dues, national dues and our fall conference, which will be held on October 28 at the Faith Bible Church. We will be gone all day! Contact Mr. Moore with any questions.
